Dr. Shawn Rennick, D. C.
Dr. Rennick is a chiropractor and the owner of Action Sports Clinic. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Since then he has completed additional professional training in Active Release Technique®, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation and advanced analysis and treatment of biomechanical foot problems.
Dr. Rennick has worked with professional ironman triathletes, elite and professional cyclists, marathon runners, competitive swimmers, golfers, hockey players, extreme skiers and boarders, motocross racers, competitive waterskiers and football players. Dr. Rennick is also the current team doctor for Top Gear, the most dominant Alberta provincial road racing team .
Outside of his professional career, Dr. Rennick is an avid mountain biker and skier. He also enjoys motocross, mountain climbing, hiking, fishing archery and general fitness.

Top 10 questions for Shawn:
1. What are your interests outside of work? Investing in my marriage and raising a family takes up a lot of my time; however, in the margins I race bikes, train, hike, camp, ski, and ride my sled. That doesn’t leave much time for the dust to settle, but I will occasionally read a book, roast some coffee beans, and reluctantly act like a normal suburbanite and mow the grass.
2. Which sports did or do you play competitively? In university, I played rugby and I mountain biked my butt off. Throughout my youth and to this day I race motocross. I have also competed in road racing and triathlons, so, I bike and I bike, a lot. I have been involved in hockey and football also, but not as much in recent years
3. What music do you listen to? My iPod has everything from Keith Urban to Red to U2. I have learned to appreciate most genres.
4. If you could go pro in any sport what would it be? Tough one… I think the freeskier industry has a lot to offer (except cash) as far a lifestyle goes. Think about it, you get to go heliskiing on a regular basis!! And get paid!! Moto is also very attractive, but high risk. I guess I would naively choose professional surfing due to lifestyle and pure joy. Who wouldn’t want to surf for a living?
5. What are you favorite books to read? Lately I have really been devouring men’s health and fitness literature; the more technical, the better. I call it sharpening my blade. As a health and fitness professional, I pride myself on staying on top of current scientific advancements in my field. A soul favorite from a few years back was Wild at Heart, by John Eldredge.
6. What is your perfect adventure? 5’ of fresh pow, blue sky, a sled full of fuel, a set of fat skis on my back, with a group of buddies somewhere northwest of here in the Purcels. Summer? Same setting, different tools, probably a KTM or a sweet mountain bike, endless singletrack, and a couple of rip it up dudes.
7. What is one technology you can’t live without? iPhone… It’s really cool.

9. Who was your childhood hero? Looking back, at the time it was probably Gretzky. But now, I’d have to say my father. He was a finisher and never wavered from his promises or commitments. He established a great legacy for my family. He was also a strong member of his community and a good friend to many people.
10. What is your favorite thing about your career? My job combines many aspect of helping people work through their injuries and return to play. I really enjoy seeing a patient’s health restored to its fullest potential and hopefully influencing them beyond what they expected. In addition, I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing athletes and other professionals that truly have raised my standard. For that I am thankful. I also really like the dynamic environment that we have created here at Action Sports. It’s a fun place to be and we have a great team approach to care.
