Stephanie Gales, PT
In 2004, Stephanie graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa with a Baccalaureate of Science in Physiotherapy. Since then, she has further developed her clinical knowledge by continuing her post-graduate training in the fields of acupuncture, manual therapy, diagnosis and treatment of muscle imbalances, and the MacKenzie Approach.
Stephanie has spent the past five years working in a private clinic in Ottawa where she gained valuable experience in both sports and orthaepdic injury management. She recently relocated to Calgary where she plans to continue her post-graduate courses in manual therapy and dry needling.
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, playing soccer as well as travelling. She is an enthusiastic professional with a strong ability to motivate others to achieve their physical goals, and is excited to apply her skills at Action Sports Clinic.

1. What are your interests outside of work? On my time off, I really enjoy snowboarding, playing soccer, rock climbing and hiking. My other passion is traveling all around the world!
2. What sports did/do you play competitively? I did gymnastics for about 15 years when I was younger. I really enjoyed the sport and continued on to coach a competitive team until I went to University.
3. If you could go pro in any sport what would it be? I would do either gymnastics or snowboarding.
4. What music do you listen to? I love listening to all kinds of music.
5. What are your favorite books to read? The KiteRunner, The Poisonwood Bible, Memoirs of a Geisha, Touch the top of the World.
6. What is your alltime favorite movie? The Shawshank Redemption.
7. What is one technology that you couldn’t live without? Telephone and internet to keep in touch with my family/friends back home in Ottawa.
8. Favorite place you have ever visited: It’s a tie between hiking to Everest Base Camp and trekking through the mountains in Patagonia.
9. What is your perfect adventure? Any trip that involves hiking and trekking in the mountains anywhere in the world!
10. What is your favorite thing about your career? I love interacting with patients and helping them achieve their physical goals. I feed off their motivation to stay healthy by continuing to promote wellness and encourage active lifestyles. I love the high paced and motivating atmosphere you find in sports therapy clinics, we never get bored!
